Hello! We are two artists.
Blooming Dyad (dai·ad)- is based on the relationship of Salina and Sophia. The word dyad is emphasized because together they create a balance of artistic muse.
Blooming Dyad's bio -
Salina Ting:
is a first-generation Cambodian-Chinese American from Providence, Rhode Island. She is an
abstract artist and community herbalist who crosses the intersection of nature and emotion through abstract paintings, stick and poke, and henna.
Salina has been involved in various roles as a lactation counselor, secretary of the Rhode Island Breastfeeding Coalition, and enthused member of As220 Industries since 2019. Aside from these positions, she attends the Community College of Rhode for general business to foster her art ambitions. Salina also goes by Blooming Dyad, which is based on the
relationship between her and her daughter, Sophia. Her mission is to preserve the innate artistic spark within us through her and her daughter's artwork.
Sophia Ting:
is a nine-year-old digital artist whose preferred mediums are pencil, marker, and Procreate. She is keen on making new friends and loves a good spotlight. While she has appeared in the local newspaper, a PBS commercial, and billboards, she especially gained fame by taking the internet by storm through her impressive quick sketches on a glass refrigerator door. Some were so shocked, they believed it was a fraudulent video. Nonetheless, Sophia quickly debunked their beliefs by demonstrating time and time again her persistent practice of sketching and creating new characters often. She prefers to draw anime inspired illustrations of nameless characters. You can often find Sophia tagging along with her mom on the next art adventure.
